What if you got with the person of your dreams?

Would they get the flowers, the post?

Would they get to see you with more emotions? 

than the anger you always show me.

What if you didn't settle for perfectly imperfect me?

Would the person  of your dreams get called the things you've called me?

Would you call them a bitch when they call you out on your actions?

Because these words fall flat when there's nothing there to back them.

What if you didn't know me? 

Would your life be easier? 

Would you have been happier? 

I sit here every night and in my mind i replay every fight.

I'm trying to find out what i do that's not right. 

What if the person  of your dreams isn't what they seem? 

Would they stay with you, when you tell them the reason, they don’t get the love they deserve

is all because of the way you were raised.

Because it'll make you less of a man to show the person you love that you love them 

so afraid to lose that ego, you would rather lose the thing you love most 

just to show you're masculine enough to not be called a faggot. 

What if you got with the person of your dreams, but realize they  don't love you like me?

They won't stay when you give them some bullshit excuse about why you can't pick up a pen and write I Love You.

They won't stay when they realizes you'll never propose, you'll buy a ring and tell them to never take it off.

What if the person of your dreams isn't the person  of your dreams at all? 

But the person you love is now long gone, tell me can you handle life alone?
