May They Fight

ForeverJesus7

O' Lord,

watch over them,

day and night.

Give them the strength,

to continue the fight.

Continue O' Lord,

to give them the will,

the heart,

and a sound mind.

Defend them against,

their enemies.

Let them see Your might.

When they show

their courage,

let them only,

become braver.

When it is,

one-thousand against one-hundred,

let the odds,

be in their favor.

Show them favor O' Lord.

Until the battle is done,

help them to push back,

the enemy,

until they know they've won.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this piece in reference and support of the Ukraine and those defending it. Overall, peace always overcomes fighting, and we want peace for both of the nation's people. Nevertheless, until peace comes; may those in the Ukrain continue to defend their freedom from places such as Russia's government. Be strong, and may the Lord be with you all. Persistence is key

    It was more so maybe, in Old Testament times. King David and others fighting physical battles, yet knowing they were spiritual battles too.
    Some ghastly Old Testament stories of things done to other nations, and even within their own nation - Judah and Israel.

    'Defend them against their enemies' sounds like a part of the UK National Anthem.

      In the name of the Lord, we must stand up for what we hold dearly: our families, our homes, our country, our freedom, whatever they may be.
      I do not like fighting. There are nine times out of ten always a better solution to fighting. Still, there is a time and a place for everything. This, unfortunately, also includes having to sometimes fight.
      Thank you for your comment my friend.
