Invasion of my Heart

Our planet is enriched

With endless possibility, the possibility

To be so much more

Than how I see it right now

We should all be able to live

Without fear

Whoever we are

Crimes of War that are pushed under

The carpet of, “I can't be bothered to see”

Are now being swept up

For the whole World to witness

Does the World really care?

I don't want to see War

Do you?

I may write about

Fairies and Dragons

For the fun of it

But sometimes, like today

I also write passionately

About what I myself believe in

It's time to put an end to War for good

It's time we never hear of such again

The pain is too much for those who have lost

Fighting for what?

Because another human being tells us to?

Super Human, we are not

No Man or Woman can be

There's no room for War

In this potentially

Beautiful life, I share with you

We live under…

The same Skies

The same Sun

The same Moon

We share the same colour rain

Let’s stand together

As Citizens of Peace

Is it really such a hard task?

As I struggle through life itself

Much like everyone else

I have to wonder

The choice between

Love and Hate

What the hell, does it cost?

What will it cost today?

  • Paul Bell

You hit the nail on the head.
What is the cost. Not to the public, they don't count. What is the cost to business. You start to rely on countries for your goods, then that country owns you. At some point, Putin will disappear with a strange illness, business dictates this.

    • Teddy.15

Your reply gives me hope that maybe some day things will be different I can't imagine a world without greed or cruelty but you have soothed a sad day for me dear Paul, you have a very kind heart thank you. πŸ’–

    • Michael Edwards

What a great way of recording a genuine worry that bestes us all and so elegantly put - how can one man dictate the potential future not just of one country but the entire planet? It is a sad time for the world.

      • Teddy.15

Thank you so much dear Michael, yesterday I was given Dual citizenship and I just can't help but think of all these.people so damn lost right now. A huge thank you dear friend. πŸ’–

I wonder how long the majority have been sharing the emotion you share with us all today. Or for how much long we may continue with our futile pleas for peace to become the way for us all.
The history of mankind is peppered with madmen war mongers who's greed spoils life for the peaceful without a second thought.

It is a very starnge and horrible way to arrive at the fact that 'war strengthens the love between us all'.

How I wish I would be there on the day when it became true to say 'love conquers all'.

        • Teddy.15

Dusk also you, your poetic heart is truly a sight to behold, it is hard to believe what I'm seeing in real life news.

How I wish I would be there on the day when it became true to say 'love conquers all

I guess whilst we give life to babies there will always be a dictator in the making.

Yesterday I took dual citizenship and all I could think about was innocent people being lost for greed not knowing if they have homes or their children never mind a country. πŸ’–

We are all the children of warriors who fought for their beliefs and greed. It is in our history and we are confronted with it on the streets today as we walk our multicultural paths. We need not distant continents to feel the angst which lingers below the surface, it is there as locally as when the english person takes their accent across the border to Scotland. It is there in the inner cities amoung young people with knifes venturing around the wrong corner. As humans we are riddled with a proclivity to violence. We have no answers, we have only pleas which fall like the seasons leaves only to be replaced by newgrown green shoots sprouting from the same old history tree.

A very heartfelt read dear Teddy
            The weeping could be heard
            The remorse could be felt
The pain of millions who being crushed could be seen
            Those fighting are suffering
            Be it either side
            So true on what cost
            Why shouldn’t peace reside
I never thought such thing could exist
It’s sad for history to repeat
            World wars shouldn’t exist
            Why they are repeating ?
You have given words to all who are here
To all who are reading it
Thanks a lot dear Teddy for sharing it

Dearest spills πŸ’– with my whole heart thank you. I'm sorry that I had to find the might to even write this my young beautiful poet friend. I'm sorry for us all. πŸ’–

                You took a courageous step
                To pen these emotions

              • orchidee

I don't think it will be entirely free of it. There will be squabbles, disagreements, etc, but that's hardly war, I admit.
I did a poem on a vengeance theme (not posted yet). King David and others of old had his troubles, wars, and enemies. Not all the Psalms are sweetness and light. πŸ™‚

                More from me - ooh!
I'm reading about St Francis and the Franciscan Order of today - following poverty, humility, simplicity, and love.
                Maybe chastity too (swoon!).

Yes Teddy yes. Thank you for putting this up as these emotions are felt by so many of us but I am one of those unable to say the words like you and others do. Thank you.

                    • Teddy.15

Your words comfort me dear Rozina, I am so very sorry I felt the need to write anything like this this night I am restless and cannot close.my eyes I'm thinking of those who simply cannot have a good night sleep, none of us should be a part of what is going on right now. The biggest of hugs to you my dear friend. May peace be with us. Thank you. πŸ’– πŸ’– πŸ’–

Such true words Teddy, will those in so called charge ever learn?

                      • Teddy.15

Well Andy if they are not the ones with the Guns in hand I'm not even sure they would most are without true courage I have been reading about the President of the Ukraine, who has stood firmly with the people though, inspiring out of tragedy. πŸ’–
