What I See

ProfessionalPaperDigester

Staring through mounted looking glass

Clear lens guide middling eyes

For pure sight

Cannot be, for what I see

Breaks the glass, leaving me thinking

Does what I see stare back at me judgingly?

Cracks sets, but the mirror suggests

That it wasn't thine sight

But the cracks of my mind

Reminding me of eternal inferiority

  • Comment from author about the poem: This was the second poem I ever wrote (to my memory) and is one, after going back to, I'm surprised by what my past self could write. This one, in particular, was about my fights with anxiety and the breaking glass being an illusion of a distorted reality. Everything crumbles when you think too much, or not enough. Its a mental scale and if you cant control it, your entire life gets taken over. Fortunately, I've been kicking its ass and I've done things i couldn't imagine when i first had this experience, and maybe you can relate as well!
