I hate the woods

Susanne

I hate the woods

I hate it with all my heart

The scary stories they tell

I was always frightened by it

Never will I go to one again

Never

Not after that

Not after the incident

That scary time when my life felt like it was ending

The time when a harmless prank felt so real

The tree that swayed side to side

The pitch-black star-filled sky

The blood-curdling scream of horror

Then silence

Not a sound not even the birds of the night made a sound

Anger and rage enveloped my senses

As a hard slap across the face

Silence

Once again we take a moment of silence

And final a small yet silent apology

It was very sheepish and nonchalant at the same time

As if nothing was wrong

Nothing was wrong...
