Deepest Love

Charles Edward York

Women sometimes say

The ones with the highest walls

Have the deepest love

Sadly the irony of it all is

Walls that are meant to keep out

Often keep you in.

When it comes to you

I might believe in such things

Provided love is inside

But I hold the belief

Love is a lighthouse you shine

Guiding me from a restless sea.

There are always possibilities

When you find an open door

Oh there is a way in and out

Love is a bridge, too

Two can cross and join hands

And seal the breach that separates.

So let me take the time

To say what I truly know because

You are what I feel

Only you can turn the key

Make a way to let me in

So love has a place to stay.
