Teenage Dream

jhart

He drove his truck down a long county road

To make sure they didn’t get caught

He was finally with the girl he chased for four years

Now they are young adults in their twenties

Talking about life and filling in the gaps since they last spoke

He wanted to make sure there was still a spark for her

It was passed midnight and he turned the engine off

His piercing blue eyes met her kelly green eyes

Their lips met and became numb from constant touching

After they came up for air and their eyes met again

Looking loving at each other with a sense of deprivation

At the same time they came to the same conclusion

It is too late to reenact the teenage dream

how sad, reminds me of Ariana's lyrics:
'And we almost, we almost knew what love was
    But almost is never enough

If I could change the world overnight
There'd be no such thing as goodbye
You'd be standing right where you were
And we'd get the chance we deserve'
(still, seems you got the chance
    just wasn't meant to be
and Time, is certainly on your side)
thanks for sharing, a wonderful read

No need to live life off the past, forget the "Ideal Teenage Dream" we all have our own dreams we should be striving for, not for the one everyone else wants!
