The Giant

Amir Meson

A giant of gluttony I am

Is it my greed turning you to gold?
Like those tales of yore

Today the sky is a new shade of red
The sheep take refugee in their covered shed

Two mellow moons fixate on me
They shine a mousy light at my sea
The gates of my temple are unlocked for you to see
Who I want and who I want to be

The tides have brought you here
To this isle’s of wonder frontier
You climb down your ship
Another stop on your trip

Have you come to drive burning timber through my only eye?
They tell tales of my riches and how I am its sole guard

You offer me a lily the colors of which I do not know
Five distinct petals and a heart of snow

How could I resist such beautiful novelty?

Come and take as much as you want from me
