Color Me In Hope

N

This ball of fire inside me

Won’t let me live peacefully

There’s this lump in my throat

A knot in my pit

For whenever I look at you

I forget how to breathe

Words just disappear from my brain

Everything becomes cloudy

Only your face and your voice

Seems clear to me

I see a lifetime in your eyes

A forever in your smile

It pains me to see you far away

How can I cover it and show you my way

Please don’t ever turn grey

And leave me in this land

Where the Sun never comes up

Paint me however you want

Just don’t ever run out of supplies

This happiness is skyrocketing

Stop it before it hurts you too

Say the words you’ve been holding back

Give wings to your thoughts

Icarus did burn his wings and fall though

‘Cause he didn’t listen

But you, you listen to your heart

Don’t get trapped

In the unfathomable sky of unsaid words

Tell me if you like the fit

Of my hand in yours

If we ever kiss in the moonlight

Tell me if you like

My mouth on yours

If we ever dance through the night

Tell me if you like

My waist under your hands

Tell me what keeps you up

Late at nights

The things that make you cry

You said it right, the other night

You are the art I admire the most

So come meet me, embrace me

Color me in hope

  • Comment from author about the poem: Sometimes, you just love the other person so much that your only way of catharsis becomes poetry writing. Here's to everyone in love. With love.

I guess it's all about the muse after all. Cathartic it was. Nonetheless, thanks a bunch!
