Loneliness

LRS

A sudden wave of loneliness overtakes me;

I feel downhearted, my breath letting out an empty sigh;

My will is strong, my vision spreading out as far as the eye can see ;

But Despair still creeps upon me, never has the time been so nigh;

To overcome or be overwhelmed;

To succumb to the darkness within or to rekindle the fire;

Never once have I sought to aspire;

For my life, I was never at the helm;

How can beauty be so fair but yet so cruel?

At once I thought of renewal;

Yet my heart still lingers back, the disdain being the fuel;

As time will tell when the leaves on the prunus trees start to blossom;

There I may find my true rose, my true passion;

Or let the seasons wither me away;

Becoming the victim of cold and bitter decay;

How once was so pure and full of spirit;

I hope may never turn to loneliness, so woeful yet so wicked;
