No past conflict managed to hear that plea.
Have you no answer from your Lord above?
It’s Deep History which provides the key.

- Comment from author about the poem: .....This started life as a quick four liner in response to the plethora of poetry relating to war with love and prayer as the solution. Too rushed, so I revamped it, but realised its time had passed there. Decided to re-present as poetic abuse of Putin (justified but futile) now continues to pop up.

I'm not entirely sure the answer lies anywhere ... but I am entirely sure we need to continue looking for it ............... Neville
Actually I’m not after direct answers to the current situation, which has, as many armed conflicts in my lifetime, been barbaric.
I ask that instead of prescribing love, prayer or hatred of Putin, Hitler Pol Pot et al, the proliferation of poets here that hold those sentiments, should look a little deeper to determine why and how these characters rose to power and how subsequent events occurred.
It is in many Governments and their Military’s interests to personify these conflicts. A smokescreen for their nefarious activities. Massive tomes on the psychology of these characters have been produced.
Easy answers, no questioning.

The key Dave methinks has to be Greed which is exposed so often in "deep history" - - inbuilt unfortunately whatever their faith folk are still given to fear.
I’m pretty much done now, I think Fay, for I have quite possibly alienated a large swathe of would be poets here.
However, before I’m sent into isolation, I would just like to make one suggestion for anyone willing to listen:
Please acquaint yourselves with the phrase “Military–Industrial Complex” coined by American President Eisenhower as early as 1961.
Try Wikipedia, just for starters.
History has failed to teach us anything
No Suresh –Please don't just pour the whole population into one amorphous mass termed ‘us’. Clearly many do understand the processes of history and the decisions made by corrupt governments which lead to war. However, large swathes of people are unaware, don’t care, are afraid or just too busy in an attempt to keep food on the table…. That last would, I think, not apply to anyone on this site, which leaves them without a valid excuse, I would judge.
