Tune: St Stephen
('In Christ there is no east or west')
Hebrews 4 v.14-16
********
Seeing we have a great high priest
Helping least to greatest
Who has into the heavens passed
His salvation shall last
Jesus the Son of God He be
He is a high priest, see
Who can sympathise with us, weak
Though we are, we Him seek
Our weaknesses where prone to sin
He was tempted therein
In all ways that we are, human
He became as us men* (*mankind)
Though He full human, full divine
With Father did align
Not sin through temptation, not fall
In them, but conquered all
Let us therefore come boldly to
The throne of grace anew
That we may obtain mercy, find
Grace in needs-time, He kind
