The Simple

Fay Slimm.

The Simple.

Looking at things through

a kind of glory

I see in earth's tragic rape

a rainbow of sorts

as reminder that naught

matters but order

for the survival of nature.

So unified peace may spread

its presence among

worldly hunger for battling

with gratitude it must

alter the me-first attitudes.

Maybe losing indifference

to small gifts will

create more compassion

and belief will cease

that only "expensive" is

to be valued.

Viewing life with a short

sighted pseudo

falsifies thrill of true awe

seen in the simple

but unsullied authentic.

I wonder if western civilisation will find more value in the 'stuff' we have taken for granted when it becomes more expensive as we head into an inflation spiral. Nay, more expensive will not become more prescious for we ever greed for more.

    Thought provoking poetry today Fay.
