SQUID GAME

SQUID GAME

Two flips of a coin,
That's life for me.
Suffering and death, looming
from each end.
Crying didn't save number 306

Every morning I feel angst,
As fear corrodes all that's left of me.
Survival instincts changed 101,
It changed him into an animal.
I hoped to find a place full of pacifists
But all eight legs of the squid provided
 bellicists.

Back home loan sharks are waiting for me,
In here pink soldiers are guarding me.
I sold my rights in a childhood game,
With a guarantee of never coming out alive.
The deal was concealed by heavy slaps.

After the death of number two,
We all had to fret our dreads.
One had to be part of a gang, after all
survival depended on their night shifts.

We all had to think of ourselves, unexpectedly
a friend would turn to a nemesis.
One's intellect became his weapon,
Our beds turned to shields, to encumber
foes from all ends.

I miss having hopeful swevens
But the smell of death prevents my slumber.
Our lives are realistic childhood traits,
We play and die in flashy colors.
