how transient
is mankinds rule here
masters of the planet
yet nature mocks us
wherever we have been
nature thrives to show us
who is master here
nature will have it's way again
long after we
have killed each other off
tenants to the wind
till it blows a nuclear fury
as one day assuredly it will

You poem the dire situation so well Dusk - -- we are the worst of custodians and we shall pay. - like the number you chose to put words and music to our sad position.
The murderous things we do and have done with our cleverness really become disgusting in horrible times of war. This was written in despair. Robert Haigh summed it up well in his comments above.
I fully agree that man's arrogance will probably be his demise either through war or technology. Well written it clearly conveyed the thought.
Thank you sorrenbarrett.
its inevitable methinks & although one may say methinks too much .. I reckon we all do .......................... and you are write ............................... N
Undoubtedly we will, just a question of when will we do it? Wonderful song, dusk, I have never heard it before. Stirring. A sad, poignant but great write!
Inevitable. A war would be stopped by a massive flood, earthquake, fire, tsunami, typhoon, Mother Nature.
Who cares? Earth an insignificant piece of matter in an immense universe - one of an innumerable number of universes stretching into infinity.
Hopefully somewhere sometime it may have been worked out...Just know us as a failed experiment?
When the desire to strive for oneself is subservient to the greed to steal, peace is an unfortunate victim - and such has been the story of mankind. I so empathize with your poetic post
