Me, myself and I

kitty the naughty poet

I smile

smile through the rush of darkness

that spreads thick dispair

passion laced with desire

runs and hides away

I cry

cry in the face of the shadows

stream down cheeks leaving stains

magic turns to ash all around

blacker than the night

I laugh

laugh at danger as it stabs its knife

sliding down through air

between my lungs and the flow of blood

that runs through my veins

what a wonderfully poetic, self portrait
        exuding defiance and sincerity
        a wording
        of that most essential
        affirmation of self worth!
        thanks for sharing, dear poet
