Goodbye My Friend

rp75

We'd only just got going,

So much more to do,

Now I keep growing,

And I do it without you.

Disenchanted with everything,

You are not near,

Content with nothing,

You're no longer here.

Grief is not unique to me,

I know others share it,

This is not how I thought it would be,

I cannot even bear it.

Corona took you away,

And cut it all short,

All I could do was pray,

You lost, but you fought.

A friend like a brother,

Gone forever more,

A friend like no other,

The one I yearn for.

Sleep well my friend,

Send a sign now and again,

Our friendship can never end,

Neither can this pain.

In loving memory of my dearest friend LEE HARVEY NURSE 1976-2020
