Amid the forest of pointing fingers

Whose hand suddenly drew back

And flew to cover her eyes

When others to other scenes turned, who

Still stood at the stern aback

Skirt flapping, like flopping clouds

With billows of the river

Rising high

ebbing low

 

 

Dreams too beautiful bear beautiful woe
in heaven or on earth all the same, and on and on

The torrent of chrysanthemums and glossy privet
