Love Is True

Charles Edward York

Turn another page inside an empty soul

Yellow colors age a longing to be whole

Somewhere down the road

Believe I will be fine

Telling myself

I will in time.

It gets so hard each day

To keep calm and hold on

Trouble always finds

Another way to drain

My strength till it’s gone

Got to get up again

Keep my eyes on the prize

And realize…

When I lose myself I see

Everything worthwhile I do

Shows the real me all along

In love it’s true

Love is true.

A world turned upside down

Can’t stay alive for long

Storms of warfare bleed

Tell me what has gone wrong

Are we all meant to die

And never know our cause

Take time to pause.

And then lose yourself to see

Everything worthwhile you do

Shows the real you all along

Love is true.

All we are is meant to be

Giving love will set us free.

When I lose myself I see

Everything worthwhile I do

Shows the real me all along

In love it’s true

Love is true.
