My home is lit
with 10 watt bulbs
I'm not to bright myself
The rose colored shades
the fly seems to like
I've taken a liking to myself
There's no denying
Enlightened I am
just a little dim

to me, your words reflect
Henry Thoreau's wisdom:
'As you simplify your life
the laws of the universe will be simpler;
solitude will not be solitude,
poverty will not be poverty,
nor weakness weakness.
Most of the luxuries and many
of the so-called comforts of life
are not only
not indispensable, but
positive hindrances
to the elevation of mankind.'
(so yes, dear Poet
a little dim, is just fine
indeed)
I so related
with the cadence, tonality and subtlety
in this poem..
thanks for sharing!
Reading your comments feels like the going through the volta in a fusioned poem; very unique yet very much needed to tell the story further. I'd love to see your comments on my own poetry!
Wow,as someone who is just starting to share his poetry this feedback has touched,I was encouraged by a freind to find a poet society of some kind and am glad I did some seeking.I simplified my life along time ago, still working on the mind.Take care.(cadence is one of my favourite words,I have quite a few poems with it in them, probaly too many,I went on a kick)
