An Open Letter to Pain

dissociativedandelions

Once upon a time I was seduced by the moon while under the influence of too many alcohol flavored teenage dreams composed of downy feathers stained orange by the Cheeto dust of childhood memories' messy pawing fingers plucking and preening you into a perfected flightless presentation of capability. In this flightless stupor, I met the many "you's" to blame with faces and names so tangled up and contorted in the mind's eye of my heart that were I to separate this collection or sort out the junk for what it was and is now.. would I still prop myself up on stilts fashioned from frozen tears and look at the great "you" from such lofty heights? Would I have to see the many moments of me threaded amongst the same cloth as one like me? Your pain spoke to me in your eyes regardless of what that pain acted out on me. The many you's of you that I recall today don't match one another because, in truth, one snapshot memory will never see the many them's that led to you. Them's the rules because the them's that they were to you left the pain that you kissed to me whether be on the cheek, head, or lips. We they's, for them to come, must seek healing because they deserve a better you to come today.

good write, mx. dandelions, your writing style is quite unique. i dabble as well in continuous prose like yours. the imagery is stunning, and invokes an internal inspection of your past selves.
