The faithful man picks up his pen
And prepares þͤ letter to his trusted men
But he knows naught of þͤ sacred ſ
"The loathſome letter," the mortals says.
In his haste, he beseech to þͤ begetter
Wasting his one chance to turn his life for the better
For a single, petty prayer
I swear to God he is wasting his one chance
of asking for great luck to fulfil his writing stance
His delusional trance
"Delusional trance," I tell you!
But our complaints flew like a canoe
As the begetter descends to our man
how to write the long s, if he can
Now, he will tell us how to actually use the long s. So please listen!
There are only three rules to follow
Please use them with great wallow—
The long s shan't rest lone at the end of our wisp
Or else it will end with a long hiſs
Like þͭ of a serpent
Next—
For our letter f's sake, it shan't be an usurpant
Or else it riſk transforming into mountainſ of confuſion
Akin to þͭ of a madman's deluſion
Finally—
Only use the ſ to replace one s from the double s sequence
And to replace our lovely "shall" frequence
The lonesome s in the middle we leave alone
Lest disowning our little s letter,
its position dethrone and its status bemoan
When using the long s as a useleſs decoration
take good care as to not break any word's foundation
Lest the word being miſinterpreted
and the angry ears of grains it harvested
Listen to how the words sounds like
And use the ſ with precise strike
"My rules aren't clear
so humans should interpret it with care!"
And so, the begetter disappears
with the man ready for his letter's premieres
He writes down to his men
A letter he ties to his wren
What letter did he send, we shall wait two weeks later.

- Comment from author about the poem: I have been using the long s in my handwriting ever since I was a high school lad. I had internalized the rules of using, defiling every sophisticated man\\\'s rules on using it correctly and properly. Despite that, I decide to release it in hopes of people reusing it for their own usage, whatever that is personal or public communication. Please take care of yourselves with ease.
