Where all things meet

sorenbarrett

As simple a thing as a sparkle on a drop of dew

reflects chemistry, physics, neuroanatomy too

Sensation, perception, consciousness

And so the birth of the individual

It is the threshold where science becomes emotion

It is all that romance holds

This rainbow in all its perfection

no eye can perfectly see

No words can adequately explain

No mind can understand or contain

Yet it is just one thread in the fabric of the universe

One speck of sand on the beach of nature

A harmonious finishing touch

As well as the synchronized beginning of everything

Science in poetry

The spiritual locked on the surface of the most common substance

All I can do is take a deep breath and exhale slowly, as I take in the depth of your words. How do body, soul, mind come together to form us thinking, feeling human beings? It's always a puzzle to me.

Thank you so much for taking your time to review and comment on this piece. It is a puzzle to all of us. No one really knows but it seems that everything in this universe is related and synchronized.

Ah yes, isn't the human mind incredible to create romatic associations with the scientific realities all around us - the moon, the stars, rainbows - the fall of a shadow, the call of the wild.

Where would we poets be without this inspirational spark.

Great piece of poetry. I love it when a piece makes me reflect upon some things we take for granted - well I do anyway.
