The Bridge

James Fox

Let me build a bridge to you
Although it's so far, I know if I try
I could reach out and touch you.
Let me build a bridge to you.

I would walk across to see the smile on your face,
And softly kiss your sweet cheeks.
I will hold you in my arms and tell you,
I will allow you no harm.

I will build this bridge to connect to your mind
To hear what you think
And to understand the individual you are,
and all you aspire to be.

My bridge will cross to your heart,
Where I can feel the love you have for life.
And to enjoy the warmth you share
With those you love and who love you.

This bridge will enter your soul,
Your very being. The real you.
It is a soul that is starting to show its beauty.
That you are being rewarded
for the years of generous giving.

Let me build a bridge to you
Although it's so far, I know if I try
I could reach out and touch you.
Let me build a bridge to you.

And let me touch you as you've never been touched before.

    beautiful, invoking
    that depthless utility of Poetry
    building a bridge
    to that, Us
    we hide from the world
    and after healing, offering
a bridge of poetry, for others
as a medium of love's, helping hand..
thanks for sharing, really well written
