CHURCH

by ray finch

To Mellor church to see Mum and Dad

Yes whenever I go I feel so sad

But on this another bright summers day

I slowly walk to where they lay

I get to the church then turn the corner and see

All Greater Manchester looking back at me

As I look towards my right

The hills of Yorkshire what a beautiful sight

Then I look left and everything pales

There before me, the stunning green hills of Wales

I’m so lucky to have this view

Whenever I come to visit you

The flowers I lay shine so bright

As they bask in your glowing guiding light

The light I have and will always follow

Yesterday, today and tomorrow

So till I come again I will now say goodbye

And  blow you a kiss with a tear in my eye

    Good write F.
In some churches, it depends how much 'ritual' and formality we may or may not like.
In some places it's just 'messing about with ritual' I think, where some overdo it.

Thank you so much for your comments
I'm easy going with the ritual I just go along to pay respect in a casual way

Sounds like a very beautiful place, like God's smiling down on the church, sorry about your parents

      Thank you 🙂
Yes its a lovely church with truly stunning Views, you can spend hours there just sitting and chilling out

      From the website
'The church contains the oldest wooden pulpit in England and a late 12th-century Norman font'.

I know a church at the top of a hill, looks a bit like this one. There are great views there too.
