V1
Jamming out is awesome,
Jamming out is great,
So, the big band, asks out for another,
They won’t keep it secret,
As it is too good,
For when he sings with them, there will be no drawback.
Chorus
This is his call, to his
New salvation,
This is his call; by them.
V2
Paradiddles are welcome,
Paradiddles are cool,
As he passes the test, with their marking,
He keeps those tunes so pretty,
As his beat does pound,
To make it so right,
Call it a magic trick.
Chorus
This is his call, to his
New salvation,
This is his call; by them,
This is his call, to his
New salvation,
He sings his song.
V3
Hollywood is glitzy,
Hollywood is cruel,
Just sing loud a good, honest song, don’t falter,
Distraction is easy,
Distraction is just,
He may need a getaway, from the plastic slaughter.
Chorus
This is his call, to his
New salvation,
This is his call; by them,
This is his call, to his
New salvation,
He sings his song.
V2 (varied)
Paradiddles were welcomed,
Paradiddles were cool,
As he passed the test, with their marking,
He kept those tunes so pretty,
His beat with them did pound,
He made it so right,
Called it a magic trick.
Chorus
This is his call, to his
New salvation,
This is his call; by them,
This is his call, to his
New salvation,
He sings his song.

- Comment from author about the poem: It is particularly sad day for me, as a fellow musician; a fellow drummer, that I've admired for a long time, has passed away. So this song, is a tribute to Taylor Hawkins, the drummer of the Foo Fighters, who, in my opinion, has definitely died before his time. Though probably not that well known, "This is a Call" is one of Taylor's favourite Foo Fighters songs, he wasn't in the band at the time, as he was still the touring drummer for Alanis Morissette, but when asked about the song, he said that ""This is a Call" might be my favourite Foo Fighters song of all time!" So as a homage, this is my variation, to pay him my respects. Accompanying the song, is a picture of him in action, and a YouTube video of the original song. I hope that you enjoy the song, rest in peace Taylor, and as always, please do stay safe everyone.

I just saw on the news this morning that he had passed, how very sad and at just 50. Being of the older persuasion I am, sadly not familiar with the Foo Fighters, however listening to this song and hearing his percussion, it must still be reverberating throughout the universe. The photo speaks volumes of how much he must have loved what he did. What a wonderful homage to an artist gone before his time.
Thanks for the read Bella, and you would have loved his energy in the Foo Fighters, a force of nature, and he also sang a bit as well, even singing with Led Zeppelin at one point, which was great.
I'm glad that you like my tribute to him, and I hope that all is well.
I heard about that this morning,so sad, I used to listen to them all the time
Thanks for the read blue orchid, and yeah so very sad. Keep strong fellow Foo Fighters fan.
I hope that all is well.
