Blurry assumptions

Mimie

I'm not ready for closure
I was ready for the unknown
Getting a high from nostalgic familiar emotion
That sent a shiver up my spine
Blurry assumptions creating a happy ending
That I only wish to experience with you
But I spoke to soon, the power of the unspoken words came to life
And took a sharp unexpected turn
As everything came to an ubrupt stop
I am not ready for closure, created by a facade of memories that were yet to be played out
Aww little girl don't you remember, you can't take what's not yours
You wanted to capture a soul and place them in your palace of endless fantasies
Where you can play house without the disruption of tomorrow
Only you know how it feels to taste something so sweet but as you are about to swallow you realize it never was
Just a figment of your own imaginations
It's not closure that I am not ready for.
But the acceptance that it never was
And as we are locked in our different fates, it will never be.

  • Comment from author about the poem: After a while I felt the other side of being in love with someone who can treat you the way you have always yearned but it\\\'s a bubble that is meant to pop as fate doesn\\\'t allow the relationship to be.

Just don't give up. The fantasy does happen. I've been married for 20 years. Keep your chin up!

    • Mimie

Thank you for the reassurance, I trust that my time will come to experience that happily ever after.

As much as I can relate to this, I still believe that the fantasy does exist and will happen with the right person. If we believe it and constantly tell ourselves, remind ourselves that it is, fate will give it to us. Don't worry, fate works on her own clock!

Fate does work on her own clock and we are all under her mercy, we just have to continue trusting that she has more to offer us.

          words I could relate with
          thanks for sharing
          (but then again
there are those, who grew up as neighbours
and went on to die side by side
          as each others, first love's,
          as absurd as that probability
          seems, it exists...
          but only for some
          cruelly!)

Maybe one day we will also be part of the statistic that will find their happiness and the love we yearn for and envy from others. Unfortunately, maybe it's just not our time yet.

              indeed, wise words
              'patience, affords us grace
              in the face of fate...'
