Dear Elementary School Me

purplelilac

Dear elementary school me, after all those years

I've realized how much I cost you

those pain and tears

all took a toll

I'm sorry

for the torture

for the abuse

for the bullying

I did to you

I crushed your soul

everything you stood for

our foundation is now gone

laid waste to pure ruble

I wasn't fair

I filled your mind with lies

We became scared to dream

The dark thoughts began to occur

We became less aware

of who we were

we couldn't look ourselves in the eyes

and our smiles could no longer truly beam
