Years wed
Time sped
On complacency fed
Not using our head
Instead
By heart led
Seeing red
Grievances pled
We’ve bled
Hanging by a thread
Hope a shred
Now we’ve fled
Due to dread
Nothing said
Lying in bed
Not a tear shed
The cancer spread
Our spirit dead

Sorry about the circumstances but great poem! Hope things get better.
Such circumstances are not always permanent or even personal but thank you for your review and kind comment.
beneath your poetic mastery
of rhythmically pleasing, wordplay
exists, some deep - deep veracity
to that true distilled state, of most
unsuccessful relationships..
wonderfully executed, a great read
thanks for sharing, dear poet
