Rest

Sharvari

Standing at my wits' end, Thoughts still come to me

So I think of ending it all, In hopes that I might finally see

The bliss, the calm, the relief, That endlessly evades conscious beings.

Thousands of thoughts in an endless barrage, Still chase me and forge fallacies

Make me feel worthless, My efforts meaningless in quantity.

Tired of charades and the working of my mind, Waiting for a sweet pause, a small victory

With a mind finally quiet and absolute inactivity,

I want to rest just once, just once for eternity.
