Goodnight

Draven

He wished me goodnight
and then I watched him
slowly ascend
into a small space above
until only his feet were visible
and then he vanished
like he was never even there.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Ok, this is loosely based on literally saying goodnight to one of my best friends and he climbed the ladder into his bed and slept. Nothing more or less, but it gave me ideas. I was exhausted at the time when I just saw his feet there and thought it was kind of whimsical and funny.

        Good write D.
If going to bed, and having too much on our minds, we may imagine spooky things in the shadows in the bedroom.
This reminds me of the Ascension in the Christian calendar!
