oh, what banal futility
warped dreams, as folly
ambition’s muse, as vanity
we scavenging, thirsting
despairingly overcrowding
free spirits, gripped
by Artistry’s
unhidden pitfalls, caught
grasping, at
legacy or posterity mirages
like sickly, shooting stars
dreaming
of rebirth, while speeding
to their demise
how we, All
yearn and crave its embrace
demand, its loyalty
and yet,
pure unadulterated Geniuses
like Mozart, couldn’t be afforded
a marked grave, by fate
that final, callous - knife twist
of dew stain, happenstance
or ill-destiny’s
life staining, misspellings
still, we are
what we’ll become
and so, we carry on
as our past, dictates
and impassioned, Bold
Choices, curate
in each blank canvas
we conquer
and then lament, over
so then, my pulsing Poetic, kin
which shall it be?
Everest, to tap dance above
or that teasing Moon
maybe, Jupiter
or a Daedalus, inspired
all out revenge crusade
on consequences, far
too self-important, Sun
come, I entreat you All
let’s ignite our Imagination’s, fuse
ink a course and Dream!

I'm thinking, Everest, on the computer.
Tap dancing, I could do that, maybe not in rhythm with everyone else, but I could always change that to, they're not in rhythm with me. I wonder how many old artists knew they would be worth billions in later life.
and how many would swap posterity's billions
for a chance at having lived a 'normal' life
instead of sacrificing their life, for their art..
makes me think of Spinoza's:
'temperance, in all things
even in temperance, itself'...
(Thank you! dear Poet)
Good one, didn't know it was poetry month, take care, poet on
glad you enjoyed the read, dear poet
appreciate the supportive comment
Your poems always leave me awestruck. Your diction is so fine and your metaphors are always on the mark for the message you're conveying. I love this encouragement to WRITE! My favorite line is "still, we are / what we’ll become." I mean that's quite profound. Very well done! 💖🔥
lol, crazy how a few words
from someone you respect, can make you feel so grateful
just to be noticed
and humbled, that your meagre efforts are encouraged
by such kindness...
(I thank you, wholeheartedly
for this overtly generous words
you gifted me
on a cloudy rain-soaked Monday morning)
may your generosity be repaid tenfold, dear poet
A beautiful soliloquy worthy of Shakespeare. Very moving. It cries out of destiny and demands action. Very nice.
yes, I agree its definitely more soliloquy
than pure poetry, however poetic in ambition
and thank you! for comparing my humble scribble
to that 'Chief Poet's' brilliance..
how very kind, dear Poet
An artist's pageant with a handsome pretext laid out in a captivating lingo makes me fall in love with the ode a little more.:)
'pageant' and 'pretext'
aside, 'lingo'
this is what I cherish about modern poetry
its limitless range, to make accessibility
an entrenched element of our beloved Poesy..
thank you! dear poet
what an eloquent comment
An elegant compose on nature, feelings and emotions. Enjoyed reading it.
that's all the reward I strive for, dear poet
glad you enjoyed the read
thank you!
you just did the almost impossible and most certainly the enviable with this most beautiful monster you have created for those of us here .. for indeed, it has everything this fan of words is looking for in a post ... timeless & in its own write understated yet priceless n darn near perfectly pitched for the day in question ....................... Neville
wow!
its crazy, we write and write
but can never predict, how some scribbles
will resonate, with our like minded poetic kin..
I'm genuinely ecstatic, a write
that means a lot to me, can be received
with such kindness and warmth..
what a humbling experience
thank you! Hyung
I shall cherish your words for a long time
