Devil

Not

You ssseem quite easssy to get along with,

carrying that warm sssmile and charm.

Although I give mossst the cold ssshoulder,

You easssily turn my head around

Yet...

desspite these cold handss,

you're hotter to handle than I thought.

...I need to put you down before the heat sstarts to hurt,

...you turn my attention from caught to alert

I thought I had you but now you have me,

I may boil before I drown.

As if shaking things up wasn't enough,

you turn my World upside down.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Written abou the "Devil" tarot card. The card is is about corruption and symbolized by fire and the pentagram; a pentacle turned upside down. So the poem is about feeling the heat and corruption they brought by turning things "upside down".
