Euhemerism

sorenbarrett

One in a thousand a genius

Once in a millennium a passionary

A Buda, Christ, Mohammad

Shakespeare, DaVinci, Tesla

After the world is never the same

Changing the course of history

These carbon footprints

pressed into diamonds

Lost in the dust of history

Are the beginning of myths

Prometheus that brought fire

XipeTotec creating agriculture

Deganawida bringing peace and democracy

Djehuty inventing language,

writing, mathematics, science,

and all of the arts

Just as a mutation in a flower

will give it new form or color

These divine mutations give the race

new hope for betterment

I admit I had to google Euhemerism, (you are expanding my vocabulary), and I thank you for that. This is thought provoking and so beautifully written. I fixated on "carbon footprints pressed into diamonds", the imagery of that just blows my mind. Thank you for this wonderful piece.
