AS I SLEEP

AngelicBaybee

As I lay down to sleep,
Memories of you make me start to weep.

With one deep breath,
I relive the day of your death.

I can't even begin to say how,
I miss you, still now.

Slowly I drift off to dreamland,
Once there alone I do stand.

As I stand and wait,
Before me appears a golden gate.

I go forward and walk through,
And waiting for me there, I saw you.

Death may have taken you away,
In my dreams you will always stay.

As long as I can dream when I sleep,
From me, you! Death cannot keep.
