Half Life

Kurt Philip Behm

For every second

the chronometer gains,

the future loses two

The light retreating

time in halves

—the moment old once new

    Dear Kurt,

You are super at penning *compendious and powerful writings.
    ā€œHalf Lifeā€ is a perfect example.
I suppose weā€™re not the only ones agingā€¦so is time.

    Thank you for sharing.

P.S.ā€” *compendious is one of my favorite words I learned when I was learning the English language. I thought it was appropriate to use it in my comment to your poem.

        'the future loses two'
        that's the problem
        with the infinity in humanity's
        incomprehension..
every factoid, is a thought away
from its future, as debunked theory
        and so
        our future, is an endless
        Autumn, of assumption leaves
        decaying
in the gaze, of belated realisation's
        progress...
(just such a thought provoking write, Kurt
I couldn't help but try and scribble
        a little poetic reply..
        thank you!)
