Faces in the Dark

notbasil

Darkness all around me

the trees that disappear

the salty scent of sea

my vision still unclear

the walking never ends

to the undergrowth it all bends

an endless loop i go around

the air so clear and sound

many faces in the dark

faces thats have left a mark

so unclear yet so stark

watch me while i embark

faces from the past

lining a forest very vast

they come and linger on

but disappear so fast

i try to close my eyes

but the same vision i see

i suppose theres no escape

from this vacant landscape

at the end of the forest

there lies a rocky red cliff

with a bouquet flowers

labeled to my lovers

i always fall

at the end of the cliff

to a pool full of lice

a pit of screeching cries

i wish i could stop

i wish i wouldn’t drop

the same empty faces

the same feeding embraces
