We were careless
With the days
Because there would always be more
Our hourglasses held the sand of the beach
Where we sat on our phones watching a video
Hiding under a blanket
To keep the sun away

I suppose we start with quantity, and when you're young, all is sunshine and hope. Then one day you wake up, look around, and wonder the hell where the years went.
True—as the saying goes, the days are long but the years are short!
