Let us now, we clever types
Let us now retire
We’ve said our piece, we’ve
Shown our wit, we’ve lit
Your soul on fire
Let us now, we clever types
Show you what we’re made of
Spit and shit and bricks and muck
Tricks and splints and lots of luck
We’ll eat you up we’ll eat you love
So let us now, we clever types
Pull back for you the curtain
To show a writhing pile of snakes
Now a pit all lined with stakes
The knotted tails of twenty rats
The guano of one million bats
And if you are not yet certain
That you will never really know this person
Let us now un scale your sight
Reveal to you your real plight
For these are all the seeds we’ve sown
The person that you pledge yourself to
Is as much a stranger as the one who
You’ve never met and never known
