We fight the Tsar to save Ukraine
and choose our country's destiny.
We fight the Tsar that peace shall reign.
His war is mad and inhumane,
an evil all the world can see.
We fight the Tsar to save Ukraine.
Such needless death, such needless pain--
the true face of his tyranny.
We fight the Tsar that peace shall reign.
Does he not see the maimed and slain?
Does he not feel their dignity?
We fight the Tsar to save Ukraine.
We want no part of his domain.
We'd sooner die than not be free.

Our children fall, though not in vain,
for every one a hero be.
