after effect

Sometimes the thoughts are worse an the people,

While the actions were hurtful. The thoughts are

Only there to  remind  me what they have done.

An endless loop playing the scenes over again.

Leaving me to  question what I could have done.

An uncertain anxiety to come,

Holding me back out of fear of what if.

Fading into the shadows to not be

 recognized or  standout. Closing myself

Off  to build walls. A coping mechanism

That keeps me bound to those memories that

Haunt me. Ghost of the past telling me to

Let go and forgive and forget what

Happen, but facing those fears only brings back

The thought of what if it happens again.

this is very true. Our minds are worse than the situations we're actually in. Amazing write.

  • L. B. Mek

    indeed
worse than the bruises, that heal
over time, into mere blemishes of skin
are the scars tattooed, to our minds
symptoms, that have us flinching at shadows
    or fast hand movements
    or loud boisterous voices
    long, long
    after we've freed ourselves
    from our hellish existences..
    and all we can do
is bravely, wade through it all
in the hope, that our minds will
    decline
    and that numbness of forgetting's
    forgiveness
will finally, allow an - ease
    to enter our splintered, breaths...
    'People, often forget
    'Surviving'
    is just the beginning..!'
    (Stay strong, dear poet
    count your twilight's
    as your victory cards
    and forgive yourself
    twice as much
    as you chastise your failings)
I wish you all the best!
    thanks for sharing
