There is a tiny hamlet
Sitting in a glen
Next to a village
On an eastern bend
A town is around the corner
And if you strain to see
A city can be seen by night
In a county far away
The country that protects the land
Is on a continent so large
Attached to the rump of a planet
Three orbits away from a sun
The solar system
Spins ever on
In a galaxy far away
And a universe just holds it snug
To keep for a rainy day
And this I see in a tiny pebble
I picked up on the shore
By an endless ocean
Like my mind
That just goes on and on

Lovely writing Saxon. I share your vision of a continuum since first glimpsing the amazing minds of science fiction writers and then to sit before the ocean beneath a blanket of stars and wonder.
Thank you for sharing and giving me these moments of reflection upon just how tiny we all are but how wonderful we each are.
So relateable to your dad's post of today too.
Thanks Dusk. Really pleased you liked it.
Good write SC.
Thanks Orchi
Great read of inner-sight when holding a pebble - -- you have such a good grasp of real poetry Sax which comes from your talented mind.
Flattery upon flattery. Coming from you Fay that really means a lot. Thank you!
I love how you tied it all together at the end, if that makes sense!
Thanks UG. Much appreciated ☺️

Excellent poem, Saxon (great name too!) Anyway I love the rhyming, I love the metaphors. Yes our minds especially as poets do go on like a vast ocean. Thanks for sharing your poem!
Many thanks Christina on all counts! I'm glad you liked it.
I really enjoyed your lovely lines and how it all came together.
Thanks Rozina ☺️
