Our species is superior while all others are inferior
How can we say that we’re better than they
When we make up the test to see who’s best
So foolish to think our shit don’t stink
Like a man, who thinks he can
Make up the rules for a game of fools
We smile at the trial
With a judge that holds a grudge
Tried in absentia the prosecutor will render
A verdict of guilty in a case with no defender

Of course mankind is superior, mankind can kill more species than any other and just by the magic of pushing a button... some accolade huh?
Thank you dusk for reminding me of this one great accomplishment. I certainly hope we don't choose to show our superiority in this way but if we do... not to worry nature has a way of working things out.

Humanity

I like how you joined
the last two rhymes into
one sentence and what i
thread would be effective
linguistically and visually
is to remove the empty line
and place it above allowing
the final sentence to stand alone
The Verdict
Thank you so much for your review and kind words. Your advice is deeply appreciated.
this poem revolves around the arrogance of humanity in considering itself superior to other species. It critiques the self-serving nature of humans who create standards to measure superiority while ignoring their flaws and the consequences of their actions. The subject matter delves into themes of arrogance, hypocrisy, and the flawed nature of judgment.
Thank you so much for the read of this old piece and for your most accurate interpretation of it. It is most appreciated
