Darkness

I'm tired of the darkness

I'm tired of the light 

I lay staring into the darkness

I hear my shaky heart beat through my body

Everything much louder

The thoughts tumble and fall into my mind

I find answers lurking in the dark

I need light

I won't find it

I don't need nor want

Darkness is all I need

  • Comment from author about the poem: I laid in the darkness staring at the ceiling every night as I listened to the darkness, the empty, quiet darkness. I never heard anything or anyone.
