I Dream Of Mating With You

Charles Edward York

Whether the day is short or long
I dream of mating with you
Holding hands
On sea shore walks
Tracing our names together
Across wet beaches
Taking in the aroma
Of oceanic waves
As if a glance or a kiss
Breathed you in
And awakened
My stirred up senses.

And if the night is cold and damp
I dream of mating with you
Swept up so subtle
In the music of starlight
Casting the melody of the moon
Across our landscapes
Trees branching out
Extending fruits
In delicious exchanges
Sweet to taste
So deep from roots
The earth moves in motion.

So sure and resolute as a mountain
I dream of mating with you
Closely in feverish flush
Dropping our tired leaves
And nourishing
Our secret shadows
Aligning ourselves
Like stars of bold design
So our bodies shine as one
As two hearts with a single beat
Let us make love
Our forever ecstasy.
