I went up the holy mountain because I wished to know the truth
I had so many questions for the Lord
At the top I saw nobody, just the clouds that travelled by
Then I heard a gentle voice that said to me
You can pile up all your riches
That will do no good to you
If you are not a friend of Lazarus
You cannot be my friend too
I stayed up the holy mountain though was getting windy and cold
Because my thirst had not been satisfied
Not a soul I saw for comfort while the clouds kept passing by
Then I heard a gentle voice that said to me
You can pray all night and day
That will do no good, you’ll see
If you do not love your neighbor
You do not have love for me
Couldn’t leave the holy mountain though was getting very dark
Because for answers I still had appetite
I was sitting and I was waiting
Then I heard a gentle voice that said to me
You can be the head of nations
But can still be out of line
If of peace you are not a champion
You won’t be a son of mine
I went down the holy mountain, I was tired, my mind confused
I still wasn’t sure what I should do
I saw the body of Lazarus walking with me side by side
Then he turned and he gently said to me
Do not fret, be not afraid
Just let love guide all you do
Yield your life to the Lord your Savior
‘Cause he gave his life for you
