Three little ladies

jenny.g

Three little ladies came into my life

Bursting like rainbows

Sunny, warm and bright

Nurture and love them

Help them to grow

Guide and encourage them

Soften every blow

My love is theirs for always and forever

I can’t stop caring

Not now

Not ever

Three little ladies

Please don’t take them you see

Our hearts are connected

These three angels

And me

  • Comment from author about the poem: The curse of a step parent. After adoring and helping to raise my beautiful step daughters for five years, his new partner is threatened by our continued contact. He is a weak man and will not defend mine and the children’s relationship. I am at a loss.

Why don't people actually think of the children? You need to stick at it, you've done the hard work bringing up the kids.

Thank you for you comment. It is heartbreaking for them and me and none of us deserve this.

Keep fighting, you've got this. Bonds with children are precious and help to mold them. If their dad won't show spine and back bone for them, then someone has to and they are lucky to have you.

Things have improved a little since I wrote this. I get to see them occasionally and they know I love them which is the most important thing.

That is awesome and I am glad things are working out, it sounds like they needed a positive role model and now they have one.
