I’ve only seen, a single waterfall
in my life, in fact they were a cluster
so maybe waterfalls, fits best
a façade of plurality
still, from just having felt that sensation
or cathartic experience
once
I feel, like I know them all
reliving that experience
in every cold shower
in every flash, rainfall.
That same, singular
enlightening moment
marinates, deeper within
until I can taste
that earthy, mineral saltiness
and hear
those galloping, bursts
of crisp, icy cold waves
thunder
all around me
even sat here, far removed
during my morning commutes
of jarringly jostling, train rides.
All waterfalls of the world
roaring, colliding and in-sync
empathising with me
and transmuting, to decibels
of serene
those monotonous, metallic
teeth-grind
train-track, chaotic noises of life.
Allowing me, a brief respite
back
to that spot where Time, stilled
as I, revelled
in nature’s iridescent, majesty.

LB,
Ah, I heard the thunder of Niagara yet again when your words cascaded over my soul. Thank you for the plunge deep into the wonder of our world, “to that spot where time stilled as I rebelled in natures iridescent majesty.”
MD
wow, that must have been a wondrous sight
I have seen a video of it
and it looks so overwhelmingly, grandiose
in scale..
thank you for your kind words, dear poet
so glad my humble words could grant you
an opportunity to relieve such an amazing experience
Waterfalls are wonderful and ah inspiring. I've seen many and bathed in a few. One of natures presents to be respected and protected. I enjoyed your poem that led my memory back through these moments.
lovely, then my humble ambitions for this scribble
have already been surpassed, thank you! dear poet
Dear L.B.,
You’ve penned a super poem. It has inspired me to write an acrostic about today’s special day—Earth Day. I cannot post it now because I’ve met today’s limit to post. I will post it tomorrow. In my humble opinion, every day is Earth Day. Thank you for sharing and for your inspiration.
Wishing you a happy Earth Day! 🌱 🌳
Laura🌻
Amen!
I will go and find your poem after this
thank you! wise Poet
I love this poem and that you can relate the waterfall to even a drop of rain. Brilliant and beautiful
awesome! so glad you could connect with it dear poet
yes, 'to even a drop of rain'
how subtly, monumental a connection..
like so much of the beauty in Nature
all waterfalls, were once
'a drop of rain'...
such a beautiful, realisation
of existence's
potential for evolutionary, magnitude!
I'm going to be honest. Your imagery is incomporable. You truly have such a gift for evoking strong images into a reader's imagination, it's astounding. I adore this Earth Day poem, it's Earth Day everyday, we must always seek to better our world. After all it's all we got. Thanks for the spectacle.
wow!
what humbling words to receive
all I can do is meekly, thank you!
with the utmost sincerity
for your overtly generous kindness
dear Empowering Poet
Dear MEK , Happy Earth Day..
You really filled up the earth with you lavish and ever enthralling poetry..
We really did get drenched in your flow of words..
Loved this usage.. " marinates, deeper within " ..wonderful !!
Thanks a lot for the wonderful words from your pen !!
thank you! dear Poet
Happy Earth day, as our everyday!
I wish my humble poetry
could be as 'lavish and enthralling'
as your words of encouraging praise
how very kind, indeed
may karma, repay your generosity
tenfold!
wow,
your poems never fail to amaze me.
the pictures that were just created,
they were beutiful.
like Teddy.15 said, "what a beutiful nostalgic write this is for me"
it truly is.
have a good day, L.B.!
ahh, I'm so glad
thank you! for wonderfully supportive comment
hope you have a peaceful week, kind Poet
Seen the odd waterfall in Scotland, would like to see the big ones though.
There's something exciting about cascading water.
yeah, cascading water
is a topic I have a lot of time for
from humble brooklets
to ginormous waterfalls
they all imprint, themselves
in our psyche, somehow..
even a public fountain
brings back, cherished
childhood memories
I truly believe, water
will be at the core of our planet's
mysteries
if we humanity ever evolve, wise enough
to get near
our planet's, truly wonderous secrets...
thank you! dear poet
Beautiful scenes invoked in the mind's eye - a great read. But 'even sat here far removed' - please rewrite it as 'even sitting here' - unless someone sat you there of course = sorry for being pedantic - please forgive me. lol
ahh, I wish I had your intellect Michael
forgive my pitiful, poetic ambitions
I sacrificed the elegance of our wonderful language
for a mere, opportunity at an internal rhyme..
and to entrench that sensation of distance
in language, as in depiction - sat
- far..
(forgive me, I wish I could heed your wisdom
but I guess my futile stubbornness
is why I shall I ever - remain
a mere wannabe and never
quite, that poet
I seek to be...)
thank you! for your guidance Michael
you always invest in my reads
and encourage my feeble efforts
in the most practical way..
how I cherish your subtle support
my kind friend!
As I read each line I can hear that waterfall, see it cascading. On this earth day thank you for such a beautiful poem, celebrating the beauty of our home, our earth!
'celebrating the beauty of our home, our earth!'
Amen!
thank you! for introducing this line
to my humble write, so
so, beautifully worded
I have seen small waterfalls but not the big ones. Beautiful poem. Happy Earth Day.
guess we're alike then, thank you! dear poet
hope you had a happy day
and will go on to have a wonderful week
Water falls are magnificent to see and be beside, I have seen a few in my life and enjoyed them all.
Andy

into my humble reality, stay awesome!
dear Poet brother

while dipping my toes by the sea
and those reverie rivers
