once in a lifetime

N

Autumn leaves falling

Sun setting in the horizon

I never knew we’d be there

Watching the pole star brighten

Escape sure was real

Somehow covered in beauty

Of place and its people

Making it seem like a movie

Did we deserve this master-piece?

Perhaps not really

But we embraced every moment of it

Not letting go of the city

So much to take in

Subtle pieces of nature’s work

The darkness that slowly engulfed us

Into its swirling perk

Minds blown by the tapestry

In the castle we moved in to

Seemed eerie at first

But settled with the view

Everything seemed magical now

Living the dream of our dreams

We didn’t want this bubble to burst

For everything felt serene

The sky looked dressed in jewels

Moon its conspicuous pendant

We felt heavenly

For having seen it in present

It’s ineffable

The holiness we felt

The sky is our home

We were there, content

I never wanted to leave

But did so eventually

For happiness doesn’t last long

Somehow experienced it, luckily
