We were not created in God's image we created God in ours

sorenbarrett

How dare we judge God by our standards.

Man’s ignorance is displayed in his religious intolerance.

For a jealous, wrathful and vindictive God can only be the product of a barbaric and evolutionarily undeveloped people

If there is a God he, she, or it would certainly not operate by our standards of justice, love, or morality but by a much higher and more evolved one, that we would not understand, and to us would probably appear unfair, or wrong.

Very well said but ... ssshhh the brainwashed may be watching and you'll upset them. I have... regularly.

Though I'll admit it's fun to watch their rhetotic struggling for logic.

When I was a small child I used to wonder who were these sinners who my religious instruction teachers would talk of and why did they always seem to be sinning. Religious instruction actually introduced sin into my young life.

Thank you so much dusk. I was full aware of possible repercussions when I posted this. Controversy has always been part of my life. Poetry to me is stating one's convictions and being able to read another's and appreciating them even if you don't agree.

I made a comment on a piece by nafisaSB yesterday who was preaching how good god is and i suggested they were forgetting this omnipotent god was also responsible for earthquakes and tsunamis... they replied that these were caused by the actions or non actions of mankind. ( !!! ) I have asked how that works.
I went on to remind them that their omnipotent god was responsible for the extinction of dinosaurs when a meteor struck the earth and queried whether the dinosaurs were sinning and needed to be punished. I await a response.

I must agree with your words here. The trouble with religion is that each different belief thinks that theirs is the one true religion, and everybody else is wrong!
